Just Wondering…

I was just wondering why you go to the church you do. You know what I mean, the like-minded called out ones you have deliberately joined to serve the one who died for you. Perhaps you go to church to get a spiritual or emotional high for the week, kind of like needing the latte you bought in the foyer before heading to your favorite pew. Perhaps you go because it is expected of you and you have nowhere else to be on the Sabbath. Maybe you sense within you the desperate need to wave your hands and sing, or maybe it makes you feel good like cuddly puppies or cute kittens. Yet we know that our assembling is for the purpose of serving and doing the will of God and not for our one-dimensional needs at all. In fact, if you do not know personally the one who died and rescued you, you cannot worship him no matter how much you wave your arms, dance in the aisle, or sip your coffee. Makes one wonder…
