Do You Believe In Miracles? – Today’s Thoughts…
By Pastor Lee Hemen

Do miracles happen today? Do they? I am not asking about the everyday kind whereby we get all mushy and say things like “The love of a child,” or the natural world, or our lives in general. What I am talking about is time stopping, heart throbbing, get down and come up startling dyed in the wool certifiable miracles. Just like the one we see occurring here in Luke with the incarnation of Christ.
How do we know it was a miracle? Angels foretold it, it was only something God could have done, it was witnessed by and testified to by quite a few people, it made people glorify God, and they came away amazed. Now that’s what I call a miracle!
In our world of sarcasm we are easily disillusioned and scorn anything that might be divine or sacred. I believe it is because we tend to have little faith in what we see happening in the world around us today. Recently, in Olympia, Washington the Democrat Governor, Christine Gregiore, has allowed atheists and pagans an opportunity to endorse their ungodly views. Why? No one is certain because no other Governor allowed it to occur. Not satisfied with simply stating there is no God they had to ratchet it up a notch and include as many derisive comments as they could on the placard they were allowed to display alongside of a traditional nativity scene that is annually placed in the State Capitol building. Someone stole their placard which was later returned.
We have also seen whereby that politics as usual in the corrupt State of Illinois has its Democrat governor trying to take and encourage bribes to fill the vacant Senate seat left by Barack Hussein Obama. Obama himself has been tainted because his office spent over six hours on the phone speaking with the governor just the day before, and the woman who was in line for the seat was a major part of the Obama campaign, has all of sudden dropped out of contention a few days before the Governor was indicted as well. Add to this the corruption of taking foreign campaign funds by Obama, not giving out his college records, and not sharing a viable birth certificate makes one wonder if all politicians from Illinois live a lifestyle of corruption. But I digress…
All of this makes one wonder anew if miracles still occur in our day and age. Here we find shepherds, the lowest of the low, tending their flocks, not expecting anything at all and God visits them with angelic messengers. They are told something so mind-boggling that they must have had a hard time realizing at first exactly what it truly meant. They rush into Bethlehem themselves to make sure of what they were told and wonders of wonders, it is true! Three in a small stable they find a young couple with a newborn baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, laid in manger, just as the angels told them. That is a slam dunk major miracle!
Here are the rules for telling me about a miracle that happened to you: Now least you think I do not believe in miracles happening today, I do, but I want to hear from you what ones you have seen or experienced for yourself. Miracles whereby God told you, you trusted Him, and saw it happen or come about. No child births, no nature walks, and no feelings stuff. Absolutely no Benny-Hinn-tele-evangelist claptrap either. I want to read about concrete miracles that happened to you, not someone you know that told you about it. You, personally. I think this would be a great time of year to remind ourselves of God’s wondrous miracles, don’t you? Okay, now it’s your turn to share.
